Complexity Gaming signs Fortnite streamer Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore
One of the biggest and longest-running esports organizations in the United States, Complexity Gaming, has announced Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore, a brand-new addition to the organization’s lineup for both esports and entertainment.
“Cloakzy is a unique and talented gaming personality – he is one of a small handful of streamers with a tenured competitive background and the charisma to reach millions with his engaging content,” Complexity Gaming founder and CEO Jason Lake said.
“The addition of Cloakzy to our team not only expands Complexity’s global reach and influence but also grows our content offering for Complexity fans.”
Cloakzy is a streamer and professional player for Epic Games’ battle royale title Fortnite.
Reportedly he will be joining as the organization’s official creator and part-owner. Moreover, the 26-year-old will be joining fellow streamer and internet personality Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar who was signed in September last year as Complexity’s brand partner and part-owner.
In a statement on Complexity’s website, Cloakzy expressed his excitement and is keen to engage with his audience.
“Joining Complexity and GameSquare unlocks new opportunities for me to push the limits of what’s possible in content creation and build a deeper connection to my audience,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to working with TimTheTatman and Complexity’s diverse roster of talent in an environment that encourages creativity and supports professional development.”
Complexity sign Cloakzy, partnership, more
Complexity is one of the subsidiaries of Canadian professional esports company, GameSquare. GameSquare CEO Justin Kenna sang high praise after landing Cloakzy to Complexity, adding that the streamer would make Complexity a “dominant force in content”.
“Cloakzy is revered in the gaming and esports space for his creativity and energy, and we’re looking forward to bringing his passion to Complexity and GameSquare,” Kenna said.
“This partnership is deeply strengthened by GameSquare’s resources and global network, paving the way for Cloakzy to grow his brand while also reinforcing Complexity as a dominant force in content.”
Moreover, with over seven million followers across all of his social media channels and 2.4 million on Twitch, Cloakzy will be responsible to help Complexity in hosting events, producing branded content, creating limited-edition merchandise, and collaborating with the organization’s lineups of professional players as well as streamers.
Worth mentioning that, Cloakzy is set to make his debut event as the organization’s creator at TimTheTatman’s Tailgate event from July 16-17 in Frisco, Texas.
Prior to Complexity, controversy with FaZe Clan
Prior to signing with Complexity, Cloakzy left American professional esports organization, FaZe Clan one year ago. Cloakzy and FaZe closed their chapters poorly after the streamer exposed his contract with FaZe which he dubbed as “a really bad contract”.
Although Cloakzy did not mention the name, he publicly announced that he wanted to part ways with the organization during his Twitch live stream on May 4 last year.
“Am I signed to an org?” he replied to a message. “I signed to an org three years ago. They gave me a really bad contract and I didn’t want to be a part of them anymore, but they’re not letting me leave. So I am still on an org.”
The streamer added that minimal and poor communication is one of the reasons why he wanted to leave.
