COD: Warzone 2 to bring back Tactical Nuke Killstreak
With the release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 nearing, many details about the game have surfaced. Call of Duty Insider TheGhostOfHope recently revealed on Twitter that Warzone 2 would feature the Tactical Nuke Killstreak.
The feature first appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. Players must amass 25 kills without being killed to activate the nuke. It instantly eliminates all enemies, granting instant victory. The nuke has appeared in many other COD games, whether as an Easter egg reference or an actual game feature.
TheGhostOfHope was straightforward when sharing this leak, saying, “you can get a nuke Warzone 2.0.” A fan asked if the Tactical Nuke would still grant instant victory. However, TheGhostOfHope has yet to provide further details.
Game Rant’s Rory Young argued that the nuke would add an extra challenge for players. Everyone in the match would try to kill anyone who almost reached the elimination threshold.
“There’s no guarantee that the nuke would be a battle royale Killstreak reward, nor that it would end the match,” Young wrote. “It could be a small explosion, rather than typical round-ending Call of Duty Tactical Nuke.”
Players can escape Gulag through cooperation
Insiders are not the only ones sharing details about Warzone 2. Activision Blizzard recently revealed the two ways players can escape the Gulag.
A player eliminated in a match is thrown into the Gulag. There, they will be paired with another player and given a chance to make a comeback. They can escape the Gulag by killing another pair. However, Activision has provided another option. By cooperating, they can defeat the Jailer that guards the facility.
“Defeating the Jailer will return all four Gulag prisoners back into the battle royale, which offers a dilemma,” Activision said. “Do both duos agree to wait and fight this powerful enemy together, or does one get greedy and try to go for the elimination victory?”
Once players enter the Gulag, a timer will start immediately. If neither of the pairs nor the Jailer is killed within the time limit, they will all be eliminated.
Activision reveals new map for Warzone 2
Activision recently revealed a Warzone 2 map called Al Mazrah. It has 18 points of interest, including the Oasis, Al Mazrah City, Observatory, Sarrif Bay, Fortress and more. Three locations have hostile AI combatants that attack players.
“During each match, several Strongholds will be activated around the map. Squads can visit these areas to fight AI combatants,” Activision said.
“The first team to complete a Stronghold must disarm a bomb and will earn a key to a Black Site and their Custom Loadout. Successive teams must eliminate a specific number of defenders (AI or players) and will earn their Custom Loadout, but not a Black Site key.”
Black Sites are similar to Strongholds but a lot more difficult. However, these sites offer a permanent Weapon Blueprint and valuable in-match items. To access Black Sites, players must obtain a Black Site key from the first team that clears one of the active Strongholds.
